1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Hoir mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old to use this App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the App and that they have agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

2. App Description

Hoir is an ear training and music learning mobile application designed to help users improve their musical ear skills. The App provides:

  • Interactive levels and lessons for music education
  • Ear training exercises to improve pitch recognition
  • Progress tracking and achievement systems
  • Streak tracking to encourage consistent practice
  • Support for various musical instruments and concepts

The App is intended for educational and personal use to enhance your musical abilities.

3. Usage License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on your personal devices for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
  • Distribute, sublicense, or transfer the App to any third party
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without our express written permission

All content, design, code, and other materials in the App are the property of Frode Offerdal Jakobsen and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

4. In-App Purchases

The App may offer in-app purchases and subscriptions through Superwall. These purchases are processed through:

  • App Store Connect for iOS devices (Apple)
  • Google Play for Android devices

By making an in-app purchase, you agree to:

  • Comply with Apple's Terms and Conditions (for iOS) or Google Play's Terms of Service (for Android)
  • Pay all applicable fees associated with your purchase
  • Understand that subscriptions may auto-renew unless cancelled

Refund policies are subject to the terms and conditions of the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). We do not process refunds directly. Please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support for refund requests.

We reserve the right to change pricing, features, or availability of in-app purchases at any time. Changes will not affect purchases you have already made.

5. Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The App will meet your specific requirements

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Frode Offerdal Jakobsen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.

The educational content provided in the App is for informational purposes only. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we make no guarantees about the effectiveness of the training methods or your ability to achieve specific musical skills.

6. Right to Modify

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. Updates may be delivered via Expo Updates (Over-The-Air updates) or through the App Store or Play Store.

We are under no obligation to:

  • Maintain specific features or functionality
  • Provide updates or support
  • Continue operating the App indefinitely

We may also modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email if you have provided contact information. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
